From July 14 – 15, 2019, a team composed of students from Ateneo HS and our very own Lance Patrick C. Pangilinan (G12A) participated in the World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) 2019, Manila II Regionals, in Southville International Schools and Colleges, Las Piñas City.

The WSC is an international team academic program with students participating from over 82 countries. It aim is to attract students interested in learning beyond typical school curricula and to focus on bringing students from different cultures together to discuss issues and ideas relevant to today. “The idea behind the World Scholar’s Cup was to create something different than traditional academic competitions and conferences: a celebration of the joy of learning, a tournament as rewarding for the team that came in last as the for the team that came in first, an enrichment opportunity that motivated students not just to demonstrate their existing strengths but to discover new ones.” – scholarscup.org

The dynamic team of three that Lance belonged to garnered the following achievements: 

Gold & Trophy – Top 1 Team Overall

Gold & Trophy – Top 1 Team Challenge

Gold & Trophy – Top 1 Team Writing

Gold & Trophy – Top 2 Scholars Bowl

Gold & Trophy – Top 2 Team Debate

Lance brought home the following individual accolades:

Gold – Top 10 Overall Champion Scholar

Gold – Top 26 Individual Writing

Gold – Top 25 Individual Debate

Gold – Social Studies

Silver – Special Area
