Zuloaga Scholarships

Xavier School Nuvali has a bold vision to make Xavier-quality education accessible to the poor by having 25% of the student population on some form of financial aid. When the school opened in 2012, then-President Fr. Aristotle Dy, SJ, and Principal Mrs. Arlene Choo, launched an innovative program to recruit the best and brightest students from public elementary schools in Laguna to continue their studies as high school students at Xavier Nuvali. The Zuloaga Scholarship was formed specifically to support such scholars.

Xavier School relaunched the Fr. Ismael Zuloaga, SJ Scholarship Fund on 08 October 2020, the 8th death anniversary of Fr. Zulo, as he is fondly remembered by many alumni and friends. The Fr. Ismael Zuloaga, SJ Scholarship Fund aims to directly sponsor the education of high school Grant-in-Aid (GIA) recipients who are graduates of public elementary schools. With 25 scholars in each grade level from Grades 7 to 12, the program aims to support 150 scholars and achieve the goal of having 25% of high school students as full GIA recipients. Twenty-five grantees are now admitted every year in Grade 7, for them to complete the six years of Junior and Senior High School at Xavier.

Stretched to its limits, the Zuloaga Fund now invites 150 individual sponsors to cover the cost of tuition and miscellaneous fees, books and supplies, uniform, transportation, and school lunch for the promising students.
