The first-ever Xavier-Sucere Basketball Cup unfolded at Xavier School’s newly renovated Florida Uytengsu and George K. Young Gymnasium, October 26-29, 2024. The tournament welcomed 42 competitive teams across four age divisions—12 Under, 14 Under, 16 Under, and 18 Under—each vying for a championship title in what proved to be a memorable and action-packed event.

Supported by Sucere and backed by a host of Executive, Major, Minor, and Contributor sponsors, the event was a significant celebration of youth basketball talent. Young athletes showcased their skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork in front of enthusiastic spectators, setting a high standard for future competitions.

Xavier School’s 14U team, led by Coaches Ian Mazo, Ron Cruz, Ian Racela and Rica Young bagged the championship in the 14U category while the 12U team, led by Coach John Sy and assisted by Coaches Marsha Faustino and Isko Sy, secured a 2nd runner-up finish in their division.

After several rounds of exciting matchups, the tournament champions from the different divisions were:

12U Champions: Tiger Sharks
14U Champions: Xavier School San Juan
16U Champions: San Juan Mighty Warriors
18U Champions: San Juan Mighty Warriors

The Xavier-Sucere Basketball Cup marked a successful debut, setting a strong foundation for a tournament that aims to nurture and celebrate youth basketball in the years to come. Congratulations to all the champions, participants, and organizers for making this first edition a remarkable success!
